Again, gunmen kill orderly, kidnap Delta lawmaker's wife

Gunmen have struck again in Delta State, kidnapped the wife of the lawmaker, representing Warri South Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Mrs. Christy Uroye, and killed the orderly attached to her.

This came barely three weeks after an ex-female Commissioner, Evang Joan Onyemaechi, a.k.a Ada Anioma, was kidnapped and released after 10, but her two orderlies were disarmed and killed in Asaba, the state capital.

Her husband, Hon. Augustine Uroye, is said to be suffering great trauma on receiving the news

The sad incident was said to have happened around 6:30 p.m yesterday, September 2, 2024, at Jakpa Road in Uwvie Local Government Area of the State.

The Police Public Relations Office in the state, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident but swiftly stated that “the operation was not successful”.

Few hours later, a source said the operational vehicle of the hoodlums had an accident along the road while they were driving recklessness to escape with the victim.

“God saved the woman as her captors car crashed along the troubled Jakpar road. She is now receiving treatment in a private hospital in the locality”, the source said.

No one confirm whether the abductors were arrested.
