Gernot Rohr has expressed his support for fellow German Bruno Labbadia, who was recently appointed as the head coach of the Super Eagles, according to IWITNESSLIVE.
Labbadia, named by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday, becomes the sixth German to lead the three-time African champions. Rohr, who coached the Super Eagles from 2016 to 2021, praised Labbadia as a “very good coach” and expressed hope that he will be well received by the NFF and Nigerian fans.
“He has experience in the Bundesliga, and I hope he quickly adapts to the unique environment in Nigeria,” Rohr told SCORENigeria.
Rohr and Labbadia are set to face each other when Benin Republic plays the Super Eagles in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo on Saturday, September 7.
