Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Edo State governorship election, has made promises to improve infrastructure in two communities. During a campaign stop in Uteh, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Okpebholo vowed to prioritize the major road passing through the community, ensuring easy access for residents.
He emphasized that good roads are a fundamental benefit of democracy and committed to delivering this to the people if elected. Later, at the Aduwawa livestock and Kara Market, Okpebholo addressed the crowd in Hausa, promised to build a modern market conducive to trading and abolish double taxation.
He said, “I will rebuild the market in Aduwawa to a modern one so that the traders can conduct their business in a conducive atmosphere. I will also tar the road so that moving to and for your community will become easy.
“Double taxation will become history in the state I am coming to work for Edo people and not to steal their money. Vote APC on September 21 and freedom will come your way,” he added.
Also speaking, a former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, told the people that Okpebholo, who is his colleague in the Senator will never disappoint them if elected into office.
Speaking in the Hausa language, Oshiomhole said that the people should vote for the APC as it was time for them to enjoy a different kind of governance compared to what is currently obtainable in the state.
He said, “I stand here today to assure you all that Okpebholo will deliver Edo people from PDP’s harsh policies. I appeal to you people to come out en masse and vote APC on September 21.”
