Zamfara Flood: Senator Yari to rebuild 3000 collapsed houses

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has pledged to rebuild the over 3,000 houses been destroyed by the recent flood disaster in Gummi local government area with a view to cushion the painful lost of accomodations experienced by the victims.

Yari, who made the plea when he paid a sympathy visit to Gummi emir’s palace and the affected areas in Gummi LGA, said the assessment team would arrive with immediate effect to embark on formidable census of the destroyed houses in order to ensure the return of the teeming displaced families, and no flood victim must be left homeless.

Other donations provided by the Senator included 15 trucks of assorted grains, 10,000 blankets, 5,000 mattresses and consignments of medicines which would later be decided by team of medical experts for possible breakout as a result of the disaster.

“I found it necessary to make life easier for my constituents without giving consideration to which political party or a religion a victim and his family belong to especially the nation’s economy happens to be in a trying period.

“The measures taken for the reconstructions of the number of houses lost to the disaster should not be political or religious, but an offer to save the citizens of our constituency, the state and the country in general from being consumed by the disastrous invasions which led to the lost of lives, homes and foods”, Senator Yari has further opined.

Speaking, the emir of Gummi, His Highness, Justice Lawal Gummi, has commended the gesture provided by the Senator, saying, it is timely and the emirate would ensure that justice is done for the sharing of the gesture.
