The Oyo State Fire Service, on Tuesday, reported a fire outbreak at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele, Ibadan, the state capital.
The fire affected two churches and a furniture shop. According to a statement by the agency’s General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka, the churches involved are a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and New Covenant Church.
“Fire fighters swiftly swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings,” he said.
According to Akinyinka, the fire mostly affected plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely burnt.
