MTN Group has reported its first loss since 2016, following the devaluation of the naira, which significantly impacted earnings from its key market, Nigeria.
The company posted a loss of 7.39 billion rand ($414.7 million) in the first half of 2024, a sharp contrast to the 4.14 billion rand profit recorded in the same period last year.
