Hunger Protests: CDS Meets with Service Chiefs and Security Heads

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has called a meeting of leaders from various security and intelligence agencies in Abuja.

The meeting, likely linked to the ongoing nationwide protests, includes the Chiefs of Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Attendees also comprise the Inspector General of Police, the Comptroller-General of Customs, the Directors-General of the Department of State Services and the National Intelligence Agency, as well as the Chief of Defence Intelligence.

Additionally, the Controller General of Corrections, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service are present.

Reports indicate that the hunger protests have escalated into violence, with some demonstrators demanding regime changes in various regions. Additionally, some protesters have taken to the streets with Russian flags, an act that security authorities have labeled as treasonable.
