Two Sentenced to 10 Years for Illegal Firearm Possession in Delta

A High Court in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State has sentenced two men to ten years in prison for illegal possession of a cut-to-size single-barrel gun. Justice O. F. Enenmo delivered the verdict on Monday.

The convicted individuals, Joshua Anamali, 25, and Nelson Adoh, 30, were arrested by the police during a routine stop and search on January 27, 2021, in Ndemili, Ndokwa West Local Government Area. The gun was found in their possession during the arrest.

Following a review of the case, the court found both men guilty and sentenced them to ten years imprisonment for the offense of illegal possession of firearms.

Prosecuting counsel Catherine Oboreruomo praised the judgment, emphasizing the importance of upholding the law in such cases.

Oboreruomo said, “Two witnesses testified in the case against the defendants

“We are begging young people to shun crime because the result of crime is condemnation and destruction.”
