The Kaduna State Security Council, under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the metropolitan areas of Kaduna and Zaria, along with their surrounding regions.
This decision follows a review indicating that the ongoing protests have been infiltrated by criminal elements responsible for looting and damaging both private and public property.
In a statement issued on Monday, Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, advised residents to stay indoors while security forces work to restore order. He noted that the curfew would be reassessed as needed.
The government has urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities to help maintain safety and security in the affected areas.
