Protest:  Yobe Relaxes Curfew for 5 Hours Amid Improved Security

Following a marked improvement in the security situation in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved a five-hour relaxation of the curfew previously imposed on these towns.

Retired Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam, the governor’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, announced this adjustment in a statement issued from Damaturu. The revised curfew hours will now be from noon to 5 p.m., allowing residents to engage in lawful activities starting Sunday.

Governor Buni praised the security agencies for their diligent efforts in restoring peace to the region and urged them to maintain their vigilance to prevent any disruptions during the relaxed curfew period.

He also called on residents to cooperate with security personnel and to report any suspicious activities to authorities. The governor reassured the public of his administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.
