As of 10:40 am on Thursday, there have been no protesters spotted at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, the designated venue for the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria demonstration in Ogun State’s capital.
On Wednesday, an Ogun State High Court instructed the organizers of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests to confine their activities to four specific locations within the state. The court also set the protest hours from 8 am to 5 pm.
The designated locations are:
– MKO Stadium, Abeokuta
– Ansar-ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Ota
– Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu
– Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode
This morning’s visit to the stadium revealed a strong security presence but no protesters. In addition to the heavy deployment of police officers, soldiers have been stationed at key points around the state capital to prevent any disturbances.
Our correspondent also observed that banks in Abeokuta remained closed, and traffic in the area was unusually light.
