Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide on Saturday evening celebrated the maiden edition Awhangbahun Festival International in Badagry.
The Awhangbahun festival denotes the drumbeats of victory, conquest and by extension blessings.
The three days festival which started on July 25, ended on Saturday, July 27 with the theme “Awhangbahun Festival: Preserving the Ethos and Tenets of Celestial Heritage.”
The CCC worshippers from Republic of Benin, Togo and different states of Nigeria gathered in Badagry to celebrate the maiden edition of the festival.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the festival, Dr Babatunde Mesewaku, said Awhagbahun was the first orchestra constituted by the founder of CCC Worldwide late Prophet Bilewu Oshoffa.
According to him, Oshoffa constituted it as a powerful spiritual weapon to set free the afflicted under any form of spiritual oppression, bondage or demonic attack.
“Awhangbahun phenomenon in CCC is established in Second Chronicles 20:1-26 when King Jehoshaphat and Judah defeated the children of Moab and Ammon in an unprovoked war brought against them.
“This is by mere drumming, singing and praising the beauty, greatness and the holiness of the Most High God.
“This sounds incredulous but it is the truth. It exemplifies the mystery and the wonder of God in defending his children.
“Today, the place of this divine orchestra in the doctrinal ethos of CCC has been overly eroded and unfortunately tilting towards the precipice of extinction simply because as drums for the Ogu people,” he said.
The Spiritual Mother of the day, Rev. Abimbola Ajayi, the founder, Love of Christ Generation, prayed that God should intervene in economics hardship situation of the country.
She prayed that God’s mercy over the country and President Bola Tinubu. She prayed that the country would not be plunged into war.
In his remarks, Mr Joseph Gbenu, the Chairman, Badagry-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) urged the shepherds to continue to promote the doctrine of Celestial Church of Christ as received by the founder of the Church.
Gbenu commended the initiator and Chairman of Festival, and the leadership of the church for approving the festival adding that this was a clear vision aimed at enhancing the church and bringing back his past glory.
The CCC choirs from different locations in Benin Republic and Nigeria participated in Awhangbahun Mass Choir competition performance.
