The EDE Prize, a Yoruba language bee competition in Ondo State, is making significant strides in promoting academic excellence through innovative approaches in the basic education sector.
The latest edition of this competition was conducted entirely online, a testament to its adaptability and commitment to maintaining rigorous standards and excitement despite the virtual format. Participating schools included Greater Tomorrow International College in Arigidi-Akoko, Ondo State, among others.
Osalusi Damilare emerged as the winner of the first prize, showcasing impressive skills and knowledge in the Yoruba language. Adeola Goodluck and Durojaiye Alexander secured the runner-up and second runner-up positions, respectively.
This virtual event emphasized the competition’s dedication to inclusivity and innovation in fostering academic achievement. It highlighted the transformative role of technology in overcoming barriers and providing equal opportunities for all students to participate and excel.
“The move to virtual competitions has allowed us to reach more students and ensure that everyone has a fair chance to showcase their talents,” noted The EDE Prize’s Adeboye Omotayo.
