Socialite Shatta Bandle has encountered issues with the EFCC over his public display of the Nigerian naira currency during his recent stay in Nigeria.
While attending the funeral of Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, Shatta Bandle was seen at another event enjoying himself. A viral video capturing the small-sized star showering Naira at an event caught the attention of authorities.
The Ghanaian celebrity has since issued an apology in a video addressed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the people of Nigeria for misusing the Naira. He referenced a similar incident involving crossdresser Bobrisky that led to legal consequences.
Back in Ghana now, Shatta Bandle explained that he initially started by spraying dollars but switched to Naira when he ran out of US currency, inadvertently violating Nigerian laws. He expressed respect for the EFCC and Nigerian laws while describing Nigeria as his second home.
