NDLEA Arraigns Man for Alleged Drug Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arraigned a 29-year-old man, Michael Ishola, before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday over alleged drug trafficking.

The defendant is facing a two-count charge of illegal dealing in 500g of cannabis and 0.9 litres of codeine.

NDLEA Prosecutor, Ms. N.J. Erondu, stated that the offences were committed on May 7 in the Mushin area of Lagos. Ishola was found in possession of the drugs, which are classified as psychotropic substances similar to cocaine and heroin.

The offences contravene the provisions of Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.

A date for the arraignment of the suspect has not yet been fixed.
