The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has come hard on Enyimba for unruly behavior of their players and officials which culminated into the abrupt end of their match against Rangers in Enugu on Sunday.
The league slammed a fine of N10million on the People’s Elephant for the embarrassing action at the Cathedral
The NPFL also awarded three points and three goals to Rangers for the abandoned oriental derby.
Enyimba walked out of the game in stoppage time .on account of a penalty awarded to the hosts.
The Aba giants fans also invaded the pitch afterwards.
The league body has also fined Rangers N5m for various offences, including non provision of adequate security, encroachment on the pitch by fans and other unauthorized persons, as well as sales of tickets to spectators exceeding the stadium capacity.
Both clubs have 48 hours to appeal the decision.
With this development, Rangers now remain on course to win the 2023/24 season NPFL title.
The Flying Antelopes top the standings with 64 points from 35 games.
