Horror as suspected terrorists kill 7, behead two in Niger state attack

At least seven people have been killed in a recent attack on communities in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State by suspected terrorists.

Daily Trust reported on Saturday, June 8, 2024, that two of the victims, Kabiru Salihu and Abubakar Karaga, were beheaded by the attackers.

The villages attacked between Thursday and Friday included Lanta, Bassa, Kasimani, Unguwan-Madi, and Makuda, where houses and domestic animals were reportedly set ablaze.

A source, who preferred to remain anonymous due to security concerns, stated, “In total, seven people were killed by Boko Haram in Bassa.”

The source added that the humanitarian crisis at the Erena camp had worsened as more villages were attacked daily.
