Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has named his teammate Vinicius Junior as the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or this year. Vinicius played a pivotal role in Real Madrid’s successes, leading them to both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles last season.
At just 23 years old, Vinicius achieved impressive stats, reaching double digits in both goals and assists across all competitions for Los Blancos. Rodrygo sees Vinicius as the primary candidate for the prestigious individual prize. He shared his belief with Globoesporte (via Madrid Universal):
“We know that Vini is the main candidate to win it [Ballon d’Or] and I support this decision because he is my teammate.”
Rodrygo added, “It [Ballon d’Or] is not something that’s my priority, but it’s something every player dreams of.”
