Italian football legend Alessandro Del Piero has revealed that he turned down offers from two Premier League clubs during his career.
Del Piero chose to remain with Juventus, where he won six Serie A titles and made 705 appearances. However, the 49-year-old admitted that one unfulfilled dream was playing in England.
When asked by talkSPORT if he ever had the chance to move to England during his playing days, Del Piero replied, “Yeah, it happened with Newcastle and Man United.”
“It didn’t happen in the end because I was captain of Juve and I was happy at Juve. For me it was everything.
“I was a Juventus fan from the beginning when I was a young kid.
“I wasn’t looking for more money or more things.”
