Strike: PASAN Members Block Entrances, Exits to National Assembly

Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), affiliated with the Nigeria Labour Congress, have blockaded the entrances and exits of the National Assembly.

Workers who arrived early to ensure compliance found the gates blocked by two large buses.

A similar situation was observed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where our reporter noted that passengers intending to travel by air could not access the airport due to a blockade by striking workers.

This strike follows the failure of the tripartite committee set up by the Federal Government to reach a compromise on a new minimum wage. Consequently, organized labor, including the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, began a nationwide strike today.

As a result, the national grid has already been shut down.
