The Jigawa State Police have arrested two suspects for allegedly threatening to kidnap a businessman and his family.
Police Spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrests in a statement.
According to the statement, “Dauda Adamu, 52, of Zadau village in B/Kudu LGA, reported to B/Kudu Division that unknown persons had called him, demanding money and threatening to kidnap him and his family if he refused.”
After receiving the report, officers from the B/Kudu Division took immediate action. Following a tip-off, Ahmed Audu of Basirka town in Gwaram LGA and Adebayo Abayomi of Ogigi village in Ijumu LGA, Kogi State, were arrested and brought in for investigation.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, and the SIM pack used to call the complainant was recovered from them. The suspects have been transferred to SCID Dutse for further investigation.
