VeryDarkMan Remanded in Custody Again

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the remand of social media influencer and critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, in police custody.

Reportedly, Otse was brought before the court by the Nigeria Police Force on five counts related to cyberstalking.

His legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, sought bail, but the prosecution requested more time to respond, prompting Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon to adjourn the bail hearing to May 29.

While the police prosecution sought to have Otse remanded in prison custody, his lawyers requested that he be kept in police custody.

The court granted their request, and Otse was subsequently taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.

It’s worth noting that Otse faced similar charges of cyberbullying in March 2024.

The 27-year-old, known for his involvement in controversial topics, has been under scrutiny since January of this year.
