Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has celebrated Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, on his 83rd birthday anniversary.
In a post on his official X account, @PeterObi said Obi of Onitsha is a man who has remained on the vanguard of the advancement of peace and progress in Nigeria.
He said: “I congratulate my very dear father-figure and traditional ruler of Onitsha, His Majesty Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, as he marks his 83rd Birthday anniversary.
“Agbogidi, as he is respectfully called, is a man who has remained on the vanguard of the advancement of peace and progress in society. His support for education as a tool of development stands him out.
“Greatly endowed in wisdom, he shows exemplary leadership style both as a traditional ruler, and a revered father figure to many.
“I am always grateful for his advice and support which were invaluable to me during my tenure as the Governor.
“May grant him more healthy and fruitful years as he continues to contribute to the development of our nation.”
