The Lagos State Government has informed Justice Adenike Coker of the High Court of Lagos State, that the suspected kidnap merchant, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as ‘Evans’ alongside his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, charged with murder, attempted kidnap have opted for a plea bargain option.
Mr Yusuf Sule, the counsel for the Lagos Government stated this when the matter was called for the duo to be re-arraigned.
It would be recalled that Evans alongside his co-defendant were to be re-arraigned on an amended five-count charge bordering on murder, attempt to murder, conspiracy to commit felony to wit: kidnapping and attempt to murder.
The prosecutor, who specifically hinted to the judge that the case was for re-arraignment but was aware the defendants had applied for a plea bargain, added that the terms were being considered by the Attorney-General of the state, Lawal Pedro (SAN).
