Finidi Appoints Amokachi, Baruwa as Assistant Coaches

Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has announced his coaching staff, selecting two foreign assistants along with his former international teammate Daniel Amokachi.

The identities of the two foreign assistants will be disclosed prior to the Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and Benin’s Squirrels.

Additionally, Finidi has opted to retain Olatunji Baruwa as the team’s goalkeeper trainer, a role Baruwa previously held under former head coach Jose Peseiro.

The 53-year-old Finidi George was officially unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, having recently departed from his position as head coach of Enyimba to focus on his new responsibilities.

During his tenure with Enyimba, Finidi led the team to their 10th Nigeria Premier Football League title, showcasing his coaching prowess and securing a three-year stint with the club.
