Members of the Osun Amotekun Corps have apprehended two individuals, 30-year-old Yekini Sulikaleni and 35-year-old Toheeb Yekini, for burglary.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Corps Commander, made this announcement on Wednesday. He stated that the duo was apprehended on Tuesday in the Oje Oniyan area of the Iwo local government area in the state.
Adewinmbi explained that the arrest followed a distress call received by the Amotekun Command in the town around 11:30 am regarding their activities in the area. He added that the Amotekun operatives swiftly responded and apprehended the suspects on the scene.
According to Adewinmbi, “The suspects confessed to committing the crime and pleaded for mercy.
“The suspects admitted to committing the crime and this is not the first time committing the same act, as one of the culprits, Yekini Sulikaleni was an ex-convict jailed for the same act in the past.”
Adewinmbi urged residents to provide security agencies with valuable intelligence to address any potential security challenges in the state effectively.
Furthermore, the suspects have been transferred to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further interrogation and prosecution.
