Reports have suggested that former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, is interested in coaching Manchester United once again.

Mourinho reportedly believes that he has what it takes to turn the club around, but he does not expect to be offered the opportunity.

The 61-year-old Portuguese tactician is a friend of United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but it remains to be seen whether this will play any part in his decision.

Manchester United has had a terrible season so far, currently standing at the eighth position in the Premier League standings. They are in danger of missing out on European places for the first time in the Premier League era.

The decision on whether to sack current manager, Ten Hag, may depend on the outcome of the FA Cup final on May 25. Some believe that Monday night’s 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace may have already sealed his fate, and Mourinho appears to be ready to take the opportunity if it arises.
