The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has criticized the ‘Ipade Imole interactive session’ with Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, labelling it as a frivolous event and a misuse of state resources.
Expressing this sentiment during an interview with journalists in Osogbo, the Osun NNPP chairman, Tosin Odeyemi, remarked that the interactive session with citizens has been transformed into a gathering primarily for the PDP.
The event, which took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, marked the second edition of the quarterly interactive session under the Adeleke administration.
Odeyemi challenged the state government to disclose the amount of funds allocated to the program, expressing disappointment that during a period of economic hardship, the Adeleke-led government would allocate resources to an event deemed lacking in significant value.
“The expectation was that the state governor will reel out his achievements and give ample time for people to ask questions.
“But we were disappointed that nothing of such happened, instead, they allowed only those that have been tutored to ask petty questions at the gathering.
“We wish to sound a note of warning to Mr Governor and his handlers to stop wasting our resources.
“If he wants real feedback from people, he should go on a live radio station programme where people will be able to ask him questions on the way he is handling the affairs of Osun.”
