Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barrister Sam Ode, has firmly stated that he will not entertain any attempt to use him as a successor to Governor Hyacinth Alia in the event of an impeachment effort against the governor.
In a statement released on Wednesday by Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, it was disclosed that the deputy governor made this declaration on Tuesday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Makurdi.
Ode reassured the people of Zone C that Governor Alia’s administration has significant plans for their area. He urged both Zone C residents and the entire populace of the state to continue supporting the current government to foster further development.
The meeting, held at the state government house on Tuesday, convened APC stakeholders in response to the leadership crisis within the ruling party. Governor Alia, however, affirmed during the meeting that the party remains peaceful, cautioning against divisive remarks that could disrupt the state’s stability.
