Find lasting solutions to recurring fuel scarcity – Oyo NUJ to Tinubu

The Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, urged the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tackle the persistent fuel scarcity issue in the country. This call was made on Monday.

Reports indicated that on Monday, petrol was being sold at prices ranging between N700 and N820 per liter in certain parts of Ibadan, the state capital.

In a statement released by the NUJ and signed by its Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, and made accessible through the Union’s Secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, Tinubu was urged to promptly address the challenges. It was emphasized that the fuel scarcity has resulted in significant hardship for many Nigerians.

He said, “Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has condemned in strongest terms, the lingering petrol scarcity in Ibadan and other parts of the state, which has caused untold hardships for citizens.

“The NUJ chairman also urged the government to find a lasting solution to the recurring petrol scarcity and price hike, which he described as a major setback to the economic development of the state and the country at large.”
