Again, herdsmen attack Benue community, kill 2

Some men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, on Sunday night, launched an attack on a community situated in the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, resulting in the tragic deaths of two individuals.

Reports indicate that the victims, identified as Agness Salahu, aged 28, and Ademu Efugoga, aged 25, fell victim to the assault while travelling between Egba and Ogbaulu communities of Agatu, returning from an event at approximately 6 p.m.

Barrister Napoleon Otache, a relative of the deceased, verified the incident, expressing anguish over the current state of siege in Agatu. Otache lamented the absence of adequate security presence in the area, allowing the assailants to perpetrate acts of terror unchecked.

“This insecurity in our land has assumed a dangerous dimension.

“Help of the federal government is urgently needed as Agatu and Apa’s enclave has been under siege by the Fulani terrorists.”

Meanwhile, concerted efforts made to confirm the incident by Benue State Police Command PRO, SP Catherine Anene, proved fruitless.
