Leverkusen set for success as West Ham visit

Bayer Leverkusen won a sixth-successive game at the weekend to take themselves to within one victory of a famous Bundesliga title and, with the domestic honours all but assured, they can now turn their attention to picking up their first European silverware since 1988. You can place your bet on the match here.

Xabi Alonso’s side have been nothing short of impeccable this season, remaining unbeaten after 36 competitive games and winning 31 of those, including 19 of their 21 outings at the BayArena.

They have scored 65 goals in these 21 home assignments, finding the net more than once in 19 of them and averaging 4.25 goals per home game in the Europa League.

This will come as bad news for the travelling West Ham fans, who have seen their team lose seven of their last 11 away games and concede 25 times in the process.

The Hammers have shipped two or more in six of these fixtures and, given Bayer’s incredible home record this season, backing the Germans to get a couple of goals looks good value.

Die Werkself have scored exactly two goals in three of their last five at home, two of which have ended 2-1, while West Ham have scored in each of their last six games, making a 2-1 correct score prediction an appealing option.

Florian Wirtz looks an excellent price to find the net, too. The 20-year-old has scored 14 goals this season and netted the winner from the penalty spot against Union Berlin at the weekend, a goal which made it six goals in his last seven outings.
