The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has reappointed Yusuf Imam, who he previously sacked for making negative comments about the country’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
Mr Imam was previously employed as the Special Adviser for Youth and Sport, but was removed from office last September along with Commissioner Adamu Aliyu, who threatened the judges of the state’s governorship electoral petition tribunal.
government’s spokesperson, Halilu Dantiye, announced their removal from office and stated that their opinions do not represent the official position of the state government under Governor Yusuf.
However, eight months later, both men have been reappointed. Mr Imam was recalled in April and reappointed to his previous position.
In addition, the governor approved the appointments of other special advisers and government agency heads such as Ibrahim Barde, who was appointed as Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Abdulhamid Danladi, who was appointed as Special Adviser on Diaspora, and Bello Kiru, who was appointed as Special Adviser on Water Resources.
Nura Shanono also moved from being the Special Adviser on Water Resources to Managing Director of Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA).
