In Jabbi Lamba, a community in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State, an enraged crowd has fatally assaulted a man who reportedly attacked a couple, causing them harm.
The man, identified as Adamu and believed to be mentally unstable, unleashed violence upon a husband and wife without provocation. Subsequently, locals confronted him, resulting in his death on April 5, as reported on Monday.
Eyewitnesses recounted Adamu wielding a machete during the assault, leaving the couple severely injured, now hospitalized for treatment.
Confirming the incident, SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, emphasized the importance of seeking professional help for mentally unstable relatives. Allowing such individuals to wander poses a threat to public safety, he warned.
