Bet on Gobet as Man United, Liverpool clash at Old Trafford

Manchester United suffered the latest collapse in Premier League history in midweek and their task is unlikely to be any easier when title-chasing Liverpool visit Old Trafford.

The Red Devils had come back from two goals down to lead Chelsea, only to concede 110th and 111th-minute goals to lose 4-3 and leave them 11 points adrift of a top-four berth.

Erik ten Hag’s side beat Liverpool in dramatic circumstances in the FA Cup last month, but, with one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five league assignments, a repeat of that seems unlikely.

The visiting Reds enter the weekend top of the table and know victory at Old Trafford would guarantee them another week in the driving seat. Considering their only dropped points in their last 12 league games have come against fellow title contenders, three points look within grasp for Jurgen Klopp.

Whatever the outcome, we can expect plenty of goals at Old Trafford. Manchester United have seen 22 goals scored in their last five matches and three of these have gone over 3.5 goals, while Liverpool have seen four or more goals in three of their last four outings.

Backing over 3.5 goals is advised, and another seven-goal thriller makes for a tempting correct score prediction. Manchester United have played out two 4-3 games in the past month, including against Liverpool, and with Manchester United missing as many as six first-team defenders, they could be in for a rough ride.

Mohamed Salah is the man to watch in front of goal. He has scored 22 and assisted 12 in his 34 Liverpool outings this season and has a stupendous record against Manchester United, scoring 13 times in 14 appearances against them and bagging 12 of those in his last eight.
