The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Wednesday approved an increase in electricity tariff for customers classified under Band A.
According to Musliu Oseni, the Vice Chairman of NERC, this adjustment will require customers in Band A to pay N225 per kilowatt-hour (KW/h), a significant increase from the current rate of N66.
Band A customers, who enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply for 20-24 hours daily, constitute approximately 15% of the nation’s 12 million electricity consumers, equivalent to about 1.8 million subscribers.
Oseni said that this tariff revision will exclusively impact customers in Band A, with no changes for those in other bands, such as Band B (16-20 hours), Band C (12-16 hours), Band D (8-12 hours), and Band E (4-8 hours) daily supply.
The following is the list of Lagos State customers under the Band A tariff scheme, who benefit from 20 to 24 hours of daily electricity consumption according to a document provided by the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company.
