Operatives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in plain clothes apprehended a robbery suspect, Akinjobi Wahab, aged 19, as he attempted to snatch their patrol motorcycle.
The arrest occurred around 4 am on Acme Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, where the machete-wielding suspect was apprehended. He was accompanied by four others who managed to escape.
The incident took place amidst increased patrols initiated by Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, in response to reports of frequent robberies in the Agidingbi area during the early hours of the morning.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the RRS, confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect will face charges once investigations are concluded.
