South Africa will face a setback as goalkeeper Andile Dlamini will be absent from their 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers against Nigeria’s Super Falcons due to medical reasons. Consequently, Dlamini has withdrawn from the squad.
In her absence, head coach Desiree Ellis will rely on Kaylin Swart for the crucial matches against Nigeria. Swart has proven herself as a capable replacement, given her impressive performance at last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The first leg of the qualifier will be hosted by Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday, April 5. The reverse fixture is scheduled four days later in Pretoria.
The victorious team from these qualifiers will secure a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
