The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Taraba State Command has announced the deployment of 1,500 personnel across the state to uphold law and order during and after the Easter celebrations. This declaration was made on Friday at the state command headquarters in Jalingo, the capital city.
Commandant Adamu Salihu, while addressing journalists regarding the command’s readiness to prevent any disturbances during the festivities, stated that all tactical units, including the Rapid Response Squad, SWAT team, and Special Female Squad, have been mobilized to address potential threats to peace.
Salihu emphasized the importance of residents embracing the values of love and sacrifice associated with the Easter season and remaining vigilant about security matters. He encouraged individuals to report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest security agency promptly for swift response.
“The biggest lessons of Easter are love and sacrifice. We must learn to love one another and also make certain sacrifices for our country to live in peace and enjoy the prosperity we so desire,” he said.
“I urge all Tarabans to be security conscious while celebrating Easter and to report every suspicious person or activity around them to the nearest security agency for immediate response,” he added.
