The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, has conducted successful operations in Borno and Katsina states, resulting in the neutralization of terrorists and the recovery of arms, ammunition, and rustled cattle.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, the Nigerian Army reported that the operations targeted identified Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) enclaves within the Gori general area in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
During the operation in Borno State, the troops neutralized one terrorist, rescued several cattle, and recovered two AK-47 rifles, 38 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, AK-47 magazines, one Improvised Explosive Device, and one motorcycle.
Similarly, in Katsina State, the Army launched an offensive on terrorist camps in the Garin Rinji general area of Batsari Local Government Area. This led to the elimination of two criminals.
“The gallant troops overwhelmed the insurgents with superior firepower, destroyed several hideouts and recovered two motorcycles and 25 rustled livestock during the operation.
“Troops are still sustaining offensive operations to clear terrorists in the general area,” the Army said.
