Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ejimakor accuses DSS of seizing legal document

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of confiscating a specific legal document from him.

Ejimakor revealed that he had brought a “critical” legal document for Kanu’s review during his visit to the DSS headquarters on Monday. However, he alleged that the DSS officials seized the document and failed to return it before his departure.

He made this revelation during an announcement of his visit to the IPOB leader, who has been in the custody of the DSS since June 29, 2021.

The IPOB lawyer vowed that Kanu would not be tried under violations of that kind, adding that, “it is not a court-martial.”

“I just exited from today’s visitation with Onyendu #MNK. I took a critical legal document to him to preview it, but, as usual, the DSS seized the document and never brought it back until I left,” Ejimakor wrote.

“MNK will NEVER BE TRIED under violations like this. It’s not a court-martial. #FairHearing,” he added.

It is recalled that last Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed a new application filed by Kanu seeking release on bail pending the determination of the treasonable felony charge brought against him by the Federal Government.

Rather than granting bail, Justice Binta Nyako ordered an expedited hearing of the Federal Government’s seven-count charge against him.

The trial has been adjourned to April 17 by Justice Nyako.
