During the Easter period, the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to deploy over 900 personnel for a specialized patrol aimed at ensuring a smooth and safe celebration.
Mr. Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander, provided this assurance during an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun State.
The special patrol, scheduled to commence on March 29 and conclude on April 2, will see the deployment of both regular and special marshals.
These marshals will be tasked with managing traffic congestion, addressing vehicle breakdowns, and promptly responding to emergencies, particularly road accidents.
Additionally, patrol vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances have been strategically deployed to facilitate swift responses to emergencies.
The presence of these personnel will be notable along key routes including the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Benin-Ore Expressway, Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road, Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway, Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway, and Ota-Idiroko Road, among others.
“We are appealing to motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations and reduce their speed, as speed has been a major cause of road crashes,” he said.
He advised against wrongful overtaking and driving against traffic.
