President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which is being held at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
In attendance are Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
However, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Geidam, are absent from the meeting.
Recall that after the last council meeting two weeks ago, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris disclosed that President Tinubu had pledged to ensure the rescue of all recent kidnap victims without ransom. Additionally, it was revealed that the government had reviewed the security support provided by the United States and other countries.
