Ramadan feeding: Kano gov warns against mismanagement of resources

On Friday, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State voiced his displeasure regarding the current Ramadan feeding program in the Kano metropolis.

Yusuf expressed his disappointment while making an unexpected visit to one of the feeding centers located in Gidan Maza, within the Municipal Local Government Area.

It’s worth recalling that the state government allocated over N5 billion for the Ramadan feeding initiative. Despite this substantial budget, Governor Yusuf expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the program, believing that the organizers are failing to ensure that the intended beneficiaries receive their meals.

“We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources. It is imperative to note that the allocated funds for this initiative are meticulously documented at each centre” the governor cautioned

The governor conducted the inspection following intelligence reports implying deficiencies in the management of the feeding programme at various centres across the metropolis.

He threatened to deal decisively with any government official found wanting in the misappropriation of the funds earmarked for the programme.
