JAMB extends Direct Entry registration by two weeks

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a two-week extension for the registration period of the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) candidates.

According to Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, this extension aims to accommodate all prospective Direct Entry candidates who are yet to complete their registration.

Initially scheduled to conclude on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the Direct Entry registration commenced on February 28, 2024. However, after careful consideration, JAMB has decided to extend the registration period until Wednesday, April 11, 2024.

The decision to extend the deadline stems from the challenges encountered by candidates during the security screening process. JAMB acknowledges the difficulties faced by candidates, particularly in verifying the authenticity of A’level certificates, prompting the need for a more accessible registration process.

While apologizing for any inconvenience caused, JAMB assures candidates that future processes will prioritize user-friendliness. Despite this, JAMB remains steadfast in its commitment to prevent candidates with fraudulently obtained certificates from gaining unfair advantage.

Additionally, candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions have yet to verify their credentials, despite repeated requests, will still be permitted to register for the Direct Entry examination.
