African Games 2023: Ghana ready for ‘strong side’ Falconets – Basigi

Yussif Basigi, head coach of the Black Princesses of Ghana, asserts that his team is fully prepared for the upcoming showdown against the Falconets of Nigeria.

Set to take place at the Cape Coast Stadium tonight (Thursday), the hosts will engage in battle with their long-standing rivals in the final of the women’s football event.

The encounter will kick off at 9 pm Nigerian time.

The Falconets have a 100 per cent record at the 13th African Games, winning all three games.

Chris Danjuma’s side have scored eight goals without conceding.

Basigi recognised the strength of the Falconets but reckoned his side had what it takes to beat their opponent.

“We vary our games and with the strength of the Nigerians, I think Uganda and Senegal are equally strong but we overcame them,” Basigi told a press conference.

“Nigeria is strong and technically good and we have what it takes to play against them. Playing against Nigeria is not new as I have played against the Super Falcons during my time as Black Queens head coach,” he said.
