Court remands 2 labourers for allegedly stealing 8 cartons of pasta, N900,000

A Sharia Court in Kano State on Wednesday ordered that two labourers who allegedly stole eight cartons of pasta and N900,000 cash be remanded in a correction centre.

The police charged Sagir Nasiru, 37, and Abubakar, 32, both residents of Gobirawa Quarters in Dala Local Government Area, Kano, with criminal conspiracy and theft.

Although they pleaded not guilty to the charges, Judge Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the matter until April 22 for further mention.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdullahi Wada, informed the court that the case was reported on March 15 at the Fagge police station by Aminu Muhammed, the complainant, who also resides at Gobirawa Quarters.

Wada stated that the defendants trespassed into the complainant’s shop and stole one carton of macaroni, half a carton of Peak milk, and one point-of-sale machine.
