The 26 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army, located in Dutse, Jigawa State, has issued a notice to surrounding communities, reassuring them not to be alarmed by gunfire.
This information was conveyed in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olusanya.
According to the statement, ” This is to inform the general public of its plan to conduct shooting exercises from Tuesday the 19th of March to Thursday the 21st, respectively”.
The Nigerian Army has encouraged nearby communities, particularly those around Yargaba, to limit their movements near the vicinity and to remain calm during the exercise.
The statement emphasized that the gunfire is part of a training exercise and advised civilians not to panic when they hear gunshots.
