Suspected kidnappers have abducted and subsequently murdered Alhaji Garba Badamasi, the traditional ruler of Riruwai village in Lame District, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
According to accounts, the traditional ruler was forcefully taken from his palace on March 15, 2024, by armed assailants who instilled fear among residents through sporadic gunfire.
It was revealed that despite the abduction, the perpetrators did not make any ransom demands to the family of the late Badamasi.
Subsequently, Badamasi’s lifeless body was discovered after spending a day in captivity. Villagers, searching the vicinity, uncovered his corpse nearby the village.
Efforts to reach out to the Bauchi State Police Command regarding this incident were unsuccessful at the time of this report. Messages and calls directed to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili, remained unanswered.
