Troops bust ESN drone production factory, kill two arrest six

The Nigerian Army has announced the discovery and neutralization of a significant firearms and drone manufacturing facility in Onicha Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The operation, allegedly carried out by the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed fighters of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led to the arrest of six suspects.

According to Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the intelligence-led operation revealed that the factory was being used for criminal activities aimed at terrorizing nearby communities and innocent citizens.

During the operation, troops encountered resistance from the armed fighters but managed to overpower them in a fierce firefight. Two fighters were neutralized, and a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, including firearms, ammunition, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and a drone manufacturing factory.

Additionally, various weapons, drones under construction, IED materials, a fully equipped workshop, and power generating sets were seized. Four male and two female fighters were apprehended.

Major General Nwachukwu reassured the public of the army’s commitment to dismantling terrorist and insurgent networks to enhance security across the nation. He urged the public to continue supporting the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in their efforts to restore peace and stability.
